Abstract

|
Experiments on eligible pollen germination media in cabbage were conducted in Charleston. S.C., U.S.A. in 1958.
1. Four kinds of already known media and five kinds of modified media were compared and 4 gram of sugar content of modified Newcomber¢¥s media proved to be consistently eligible for cabbage.
2. Pre-pollen dusting treatment showed better result over that of post-pollen dusting and another crushing treatment.
3. Dropping and shaking way of media treatment resulted in about same degree of smearing way but the former one was considerably easy in its performance.
4. Further studies cm eligible pH media and chemical changes of the stored media in refrigerator will be desirable in related to this study.
